Do you feel like you barely have any time? You work 8 hours, you sleep 8 hours and in the 8 hours that are left you're expected to do all your chores, cook your own food, keep in touch with your friends and read books so your brain doesn't turn to mush from watching TikTok all day. And make sourdough for some reason.

So when the hell are you supposed to find time to exercise?

It feels impossible.

What if you could get the equivalent of three gym sessions in just one hour a week AND tick the socialising box and the hobby box all at the same time?

Every single aerial session you do uses all the muscles in your body. Every time you get in the hoop or climb the silk or spin around the pole you're engaging almost every muscle to do that. They haven't invented a machine at the gym that does that.

​

Every class you'll do something new and different and this keeps our dopamine centres firing, especially for those of us on the neuro-divergent side! In other forms of exercise people tend to drop off once things get a bit stale. You can maybe run one more km, or lift 5 more kg. And on your off days you might lift less than you did the week before and you'll feel despondent. And don't get me started on how hormones affect us...

"I'm not making any progress, this is pointless" you'll think. And you'll quit.

 

With aerial you're never going backwards. You're either learning brand new moves or perfecting old ones. Something you struggled with will suddenly become easy or you'll realise you can hold it longer or lift into it rather than throwing yourself into it.  You'll get a move you've wanted for ages. There's that dopamine hit again.

You'll fill your social media feed (or spam your family chat group) with your achievements. Your phone will remind you of what you were doing a year ago when you started and I promise, you will feel amazing. You will have achieved so much.

​

But the first thing you have to do is start. You have to show up. You have to book the class and actually go.

​

We tend to procrastinate and put off things that make us nervous. It's our brain protecting us. Don't do the scary thing, you might fail. Of course you might also succeed but Brain doesn't tell you that. Brain wants to keep you safe.

And why should you choose Cloud over any other classes? Why should you spend your precious time and money at our place? Because it will literally change your life. We have a community that you can dip in and out of as much as you want, you'll never feel like an outsider even from day one. You will be encouraged to be your own brand of weird self, we welcome absolutely everybody. Brand new for 2025 we've set up some fundamentals classes in our most popular disciplines - aerial hoop, silks and pole. These classes will go through the basics of aerial and you'll gain strength and confidence with your fellow beginners. Then when you're ready you can move onto the beginner and improver classes we have, or try a new discipline.

​

Of course you're welcome to sign up to a beginners class without doing fundamentals, it's up to you and what kind of learner you are. Some people prefer a slower pace and time to build up the confidence, and some people love to be thrown into something so they can just go for it. Whatever your personality type, we have a class for you and our teachers are waiting to welcome you to the Cloud family.

What to Expect in Our Classes

- Warm-Up and Conditioning: Start with a gentle warm-up and exercises designed to build the strength and flexibility needed for aerial hoop.

- Basic Moves and Techniques: Learn the fundamental positions and movements on the equipment in a safe and supportive environment.

- Combos and Choreography: Put together simple sequences and enjoy the satisfaction of fluid movement and flow.

- Cool Down and Stretch: End each session with a relaxing cool down to enhance flexibility and prevent injury.

Am I Too Unfit/Overweight/Old/Clumsy/Socially Awkward?

I swear this is the biggest barrier to joining classes. Your brain telling you that you're all of the above and you will be the worst person in class. When I first started pole in 2009, I was absolutely terrible at it. I was the worst in class and I was the last to get every move. But I had a great time each class, laughing through my failure and celebrating my wins. You will be the same. Yes you will suck when you first start. Everyone sucks at everything when they first start, and if they don't then it's because it's not difficult enough and therefore not worthy anyway.

 

Our classes are specifically tailored for beginners, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and can progress at their own pace. All you need is enthusiasm and the dedication to show up. Stop listening to that voice that says you're not good enough and you'll be amazed what you achieve.
