Cloud’s Top 5 Class List
Schedule Suggestions for Progression and Success

New year, new you?
Are you wanting to double down on your aerial ambitions in 2025?
Maybe you want to gain more strength and flexibility, Cloud has all the tools to help you get there.
Maybe you finally want to flex your performance muscles in one of our showcases, or book yourself a fabulous film shoot with Phil and commit your fabulousness to the screen for posterity.
Whatever your goals, if you are looking to increase your training volume Cloud has put together a top 5 class list (in order of priority; just in case you’re only looking to add a class of two).
1. Start with what you love
You found us and you stayed with us for a reason. You’re hyper for Hoop, stunned by Silks, or taken with Trapeze. Whatever floats your boat, this should be your priority, it’s what motivates you, excites you, and gets your butt to the studio after a long day at work, if you’re strapped for time, prioritise what you love and keep your passion alive.
2. Stretch for success
So you have time in your schedule for an extra class, what do you choose? Flexibility not only gives you access to those aesthetically pleasing shapes, but you’ll develop more efficiency in your aerial movement while stretching out those hard-working muscles reducing your risk of injury and helping to keep your body healthy.
3. Straps?
Now if you’re not a Straps lover already, the idea of adding a Straps class to your schedule can be an intimidating ask. Stick with a beginner's class (even if you’ve been doing aerial for a while). You’ll focus on fundamental body positions and good technique, with plenty of opportunity to rest between sets. Even if you take a Straps class at a gentle pace, that technical foundation will work its way into your other practice and you’ll start to see incredible progress.
4. Keep the dream alive
By this point, if you’re fitting 4 classes into your weekly schedule, you are
close to training like a professional. It’s time to cycle back to the start, to your weapon of choice, and double up on your favourite skill. You’ve supported your practice with focused flexibility and strength training, it’s time to get back to what you love and see how far you push yourself, expand your knowledge, and work on threading together longer routines and sequences. Time to flex your muscles in a showcase soon?
5. Handstands/Acro
Handstands and acro are great ways of working out your “push” muscles instead of your “pull” muscles. For the same reason you might want to add a stretch class to your schedule, Handstands and acro classes will help restore balance to your body (and could be the start of a brand new obsession).
This is Cloud’s suggestion for the budding aerial savant, but there is more than one way to “skin a cat”; well not if you ask Audrey or Ed (sorry, Straps in-joke).
Fill your time and your schedule with things you love. Don’t be afraid to try something new and swap it out if it doesn’t gel with your “vibe.”
If you want some personalised guidance, don’t be afraid to reach out to your teachers, they’ve been on their own journeys to get where they are, and they’re more than happy to help you with yours.
